Southern Illinois spring and summer storms can leave a hood, roof, and trunk covered in dents in a matter of minutes. Mickelson’s Auto Body repairs hail damage on cars, trucks, SUVs, vans, and RVs, and we work with your insurance company from the first estimate to the final bill. Drivers across Clinton County have trusted our family shop since 1985.

Paintless dent repair first. For most hail dents, we use PDR to push the metal back into shape from behind the panel. Your factory paint stays intact; there’s no filler, and the repair is typically faster.
Conventional repair where needed. When hail cracks the paint or the dents are too deep or sharp, we repair the panel and refinish it in our oversized paint booth using computerized color matching for a seamless blend.
Glass and trim. We replace cracked windshields and damaged trim so the whole vehicle is restored, not just the dents.

Couldn’t be happier with how the work on my truck came out. They have removed any sign of hail damage and did exceptional work on body damage from another incident. Everyone here is easy to work with and made the process worry free. I would highly recommend them for any auto body service, and I will continue to come back in the future.”
I accumulated several rock chips in the hood of my Ford Explorer. That, along with a brief hail storm while at work, solidified my need to get the hood fixed and repainted. I never take my car anywhere but Mickelson’s. Five days later, it is fixed up looking like new and even sparkling with an amazing detail job! Mickelson’s will treat you right!
Serving: Bartelso, Breese, Carlyle, Aviston, Germantown, Trenton, Albers, Centralia, Okawville, Nashville, and surrounding Clinton County communities.

Hail damage is covered under comprehensive coverage, not collision or liability. If you carry comprehensive, your insurer pays for the repair minus your deductible.
Hail is considered a no-fault, weather-related claim, so it’s less likely to affect your rates than an at-fault accident. Rules vary by insurer, so check with your agent.
Yes. Illinois law lets you choose where your vehicle is repaired. Your insurer may suggest a shop, but the decision is yours.
For most hail dents, yes. PDR keeps your factory paint, avoids filler, and is usually faster. Dents with cracked paint or very sharp edges need conventional repair and refinishing.
Light hail damage may take a day or two. Heavy damage across many panels can take a week or more, especially if parts or glass need to be ordered. We’ll give you a timeline with your estimate.
It’s worth it. Unrepaired hail damage lowers trade-in and resale value, and chipped paint in the dents can lead to rust. If you receive an insurance payment and don’t repair the car, a future hail claim on the same panels may not be paid.
Yes. Our shop was built to fit oversized vehicles, including RVs, Sprinters, and fleet trucks, with a paint booth sized to match.
